SMALL ACTS OF RESISTANCE: FINAL WEEK
The final phase of the project resulted in the refining & sharing of the groups individual co-created 'Small Acts of Resistance' & what powerful, relevant and touching work they produced! Every woman produced Small Acts of Resistance to share with the each group on that day - altogether over three days, I witnessed twenty powerful acts of resistance, to what women in Islington feel, see and live, as their reality within the context of 13 years of Tory austerity and they grasped the opportunity to respond creatively as activists who see clearly and who have something powerful to express.
Austerity, is a deliberate political choice, which has particularily affected women, of all ethnicities, who are working class, essentially who are strong powerful women, who the system has deliberately tried to break. Over the last three weeks we have all witnessed how wrong they are to think we could be defeated.
