RECOVERY STREET FILM FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 27TH 2025

islingtonpeoplestheatre was involved in the final week of #recoverymonth last week. Firstly, being invited to speak on a panel event for @recoverystreetfilmfest at the iconic @phoenix_cinema with Maddie Kitchen, director of @recoverystreetfilmfest & @sobriety_films, Sam @child_of_project & host @rmacmanusmusic.

Brilliantly organised by Barnet Council (thank you all), we discussed our own films & issues relating to the festival's theme for this year #creativehealing.

Then on Saturday 27th myself and #therecoverists team including @camerawalaorg @zuhrevatansever attended the Awards celebration @londonscreenacademy to watch the final 15 short films, including our own #therecoverists.

It was wonderful to be selected & to be part of this wonderful festival! We all loved the process from start to finish.

Huge thank you to Maddie for all her brilliant work in producing the festival this year, her own wonderful film about the Women's Mural, & for inviting @islingtonpeoplestheatre to contribute! Congratulations to all the filmmaker's who won prizes and to all who entered their films.
