A message from the late, great activist, feminist and poet Audrey Lorde:

'Caring for myself is not Self-Indulgence. It is Self-preservation, and that is an Act of Political Warfare'.

Lorde saw that self-care was essential as a female activist living in a patriarchal society. It gave her the sustenance and ability to enact change and was therefore in itself a radical act.
