BE THE CHANGE BLOCK TWO: SESSION FIVE: GUEST FACILITATOR - KATHARINE MARKWICK
Delighted to have the wonderful Katharine Markwick as our guest facilitator this Thursday leading a session on comedy creation through writing & comedy characters.
Katharine is a writer, theatre-maker and creative facilitator. She trained at the London International School of Performing Arts, and has worked in arts, education and humanitarian settings for many years. As well as making and touring her own award-winning devised shows and short films, she has collaborated with organisations including Teach First, A New Direction and the Young Vic.
Since 2016, Katharine has toured internationally with Clowns Without Borders UK, helping to create spaces of laughter, connection and play for children living in conflict and crisis situations all over the world.
The focus for this block of #bethechange???? continues to be exploring all aspects of comedy including the art of the clown, physical comedy, stand up comedy, writing comedy material for scenes & creating comedy characters.
We are keeping our vibes high with lots of laughs right now! Well needed in the current chaos around us and let's face it, there's SO much to laugh about...
#bethechange is still open for new participants to join us, so do get in touch if you’re looking to improve your mental health through creativity, if you’re an adult in recovery looking to sustain your recovery through engagement with arts & if you’re currently homeless or vulnerably housed looking for support, community & resistance through creativity.
