BE THE CHANGE: GUEST FACILITATOR - LYDIA NEWMAN
Really delighted that the brilliant @ladedum will be working with us on this first block of #bethechange. We worked together on #sheroes with @pauseorg a couple of years ago, and she ran a brilliant visual arts embodied workshop.
Lydia is an artist whose work explores how her personal and ancestral past shapes her life. Using visual art, installations, soundscaping, and movement, she conveys personal narratives with authenticity and vulnerability. Lydia's art encourages viewers to reflect on their experiences and emotions, inviting them to explore their personal histories. Through her pieces, she creates a space where individuals can connect with their vulnerabilities and experience a sense of community.
Lydia’s artistic practice is enriched by nearly two decades of leading creative facilitation projects within the charity sector across the UK, The Gambia, Kenya, Bali, and Tanzania. Throughout her career, Lydia has facilitated diverse programs employing drama, visual arts, storytelling, and movement to empower groups. These programs have focused on fostering honesty, enabling expression and dialogue, and appreciating the value of similarities and differences.
Be the Change is designed for individuals with experience of homelessness/recovery and mental health issues. See the flier in the bio for details of how to secure your place!
